US soccer legend condemns Megan Rapinoe's heinous decision

Megan Rapinoe of the United States Women's National Team did not play a single minute in the team's 1-1 draw with the Netherlands last week owing to a coaching decision.

And one USWNT legend was not thrilled with the coaching staff's decision. Former USWNT star Christen Press recently told SB Nation that she disagreed with

the decision not to play Megan Rapinoe late in the game. Fear, according to the press, may have motivated the decision not to deploy Rapinoe.

"Was [the coaching staff] afraid of making a change?" According to SB Nation, the press inquired.

"There's no way you're wondering whether Megan Rapinoe can come in for 15 minutes and deliver a great cross."

You're certain about that; there's no doubt about it." Press is definitely no stranger to the World Cup, having helped lead the squad to

back-to-back World Cup wins in 2015 and again in 2019. Even though she will miss this year's event owing to injury, she is well-qualified to appraise the team.

It will be intriguing to see if Rapinoe participates in this week's crucial showdown against Portugal.
