Because no one won the jackpot on Tuesday night, the big reward has risen to $1.25 billion for Friday's drawing.
Six persons matched the five white balls but not the Mega Ball, according to the Mega Millions website.
California had two winners, and Massachusetts, North Carolina, New York, and Wisconsin each had one.
In Texas, a ticket matched all five numbers and had the 4X Megaplier.
The prize on Friday could break into the top three in Mega Millions history, topping a $1.337 billion ticket won in Illinois on July 29, 2022.
If someone matches all of the numbers in Friday's drawing, they will be given the option of receiving the cash in,
one lump sum followed by 29 annual instalments. A winner might alternatively select a lump sum payment of $625.3 million before taxes.
According to lottery authorities, no one has matched all five white balls and the Megaball since April 18. According to the Mega Millions website,
