California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis and other state leaders have joined the Unite Here Local 11 campaign.

The 57-year-old Democrat and candidate for governor in 2026 emphasized worker dignity and fair salaries.

"I stand in solidarity with Unite HERE in their fight for a living wage," she told POLITICO.

"And I hope we can use this opportunity to draw attention to the hardworking men and women who power our economy."
