At Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia, during the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup (which was broadcast on FOX and the FOX Sports app), the third-place match between Sweden and co-host Australia was decided in favor of Sweden.

At the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, Australia played valiantly, boosted by a rowdy home crowd; nonetheless, it was unable to hit the back of the net, and Sweden secured the third-place result.

With the victory, Sweden became the first country in the history of the FIFA Women's World Cup to finish in third place on four separate occasions.

Sam Kerr suffered a significant blow and was knocked to the ground for a short period of time.

she was able to get back up on her feet and walk off the field to the roaring acclaim of the fans in her home stadium.

Musovic of Sweden responded fast to the pandemonium that ensued in the area after a free kick was taken, which prevented Australia from getting back in the game.

When Sweden surged down the field in transition, their offensive pressure paid off when Kosovare Asllani tucked the ball into the far corner of the net to put Sweden up 2-0 and put Sweden in the driver's seat of the match.
