"Sooner rather than later, probably": Mark Wahlberg Wanted to Retire After a $407 Million Pay Cut Tom Holland's Critical Misfortune


Mark Wahlberg began his career in the early 1990s. His 90s hip-hop outfit Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch was successful. Acting became his career. 

The Ted actor has done well since then, with roughly 80 films and over 40 producing credits.Wahlberg is among several actors that have retired. He moved his family to Las Vegas to escape Hollywood's glitz.

The actor played Victor Sullivan in Uncharted with Tom Holland.Fans assume Mark Wahlberg may be done acting after leaving Hollywood for family. He's left Hollywood, but he's not retiring.

 On The Talk, he said he had been thinking about something for a while. LV was the ideal place to debut his new ideas.Wahlberg said, "We're creating a studio." “We’re building the shoe factory. We want many jobs here.”

“I moved to Nevada where, after this gubernatorial election, hopefully, it will go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get a tax credit for the state—build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0.”

Wahlberg spoke mostly on his business plans on The Talk, but not about performing. What if The Departed actor is preparing to retire from acting by working behind the scenes?

Wahlberg went to Las Vegas to give his kids more possibilities. He said: “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the whole time.”

Actor added, “So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams—my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer—this made a lot more sense for us.”Wahlberg may make additional films before retiring. The actor plans to retire "sooner rather than later."
