Rey's New Star Wars Film Will Correct The Sequels' Criminal Lightsaber Mistake
Rey Skywalker will return to the big screen in a new Star Wars film centered on her efforts to reestablish the Jedi Order,
and the film has the potential to correct a significant lightsaber oversight from the second trilogy.
In a similar vein to Luke Skywalker, Rey spent the most of the sequel trilogy using someone else's lightsaber, primarily Anakin's,
which she was handed by Maz Kanata when she arrived on the planet Takodana. Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber is famous, with the Chosen One himself bonding to it.
All of this altered in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, where Rey used two new lightsabers.
As exciting as this was, both lightsabers were utilized sparingly, and spectators never got to see what they were capable of. This was a tremendous error.
In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey used two new lightsabers. The first was seen in a weird vision aboard the debris of the second Death Star,
with Rey seeing a possible future in which she had turned to the dark side and wielded a red lightsaber.
