Real Salt Lake’s Match With León Postponed Due To Thunderstorms

SALT LAKE CITY— The Leagues Cup round of 16 match between Real Salt Lake and León was delayed and eventually postponed due to bad weather.

The delay came minutes before kickoff.Salt Lake Valley cities received severe thunderstorm warnings.

Friday, August 3 was the original game date. The match is rescheduled.Utah Real League Cup vs. LeónReal Salt Lake faces Club León on Thursday in the Leagues Cup 2023 round of 32.

LAFC or FC Juárez await the winner in the round of 16.Real Salt Lake split the group stage. After beating Seattle 3-0 in game one, they lost 3-0 to Liga MX team Monterrey.

León won the group stage 2-0. They defeated Vancouver on penalties and the LA Galaxy 1-0 in game two.León won CONCACAF. They won their first CONCACAF title 3-1 over LAFC.

RSL lost its first game in over a month to CF Monterrey. Monterrey leads Liga MX while León sits eighth. RSL will try to recover in front of their fans.Liga MX 11th-placed León is 1-2. 10-7-7 Real Salt Lake is the MLS Western Conference's 3-seed.
