Lionel Messi Scores Again, Inter Miami Beats Philadelphia 4-1 to Reach League Cup Final

Inter Miami defeated the Union 4-1 in a Leagues Cup semifinal on Tuesday night after Messi blasted a 30-yard shot past three Philadelphia players in the 20th minute.

Philly soccer fans paid a record price for tickets.

Messi swapped jerseys with Union forward Julián Carranza, then skipped the postgame interview to post a message on Instagram for his 483 million followers.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner scored his ninth goal in six matches with his new team in front of 20,000 spectators, with secondary market ticket prices topping $1,000.

Not from three Union season-ticket holders who donned Messi attire for the night.

Fans who waited in line for real Messi jerseys or ate Messi fries munch a food truck.

And especially not from the Union, who wanted to win but otherwise stuffed the coffers and garnered more worldwide attention in one night than in any game in their history.

When 36-year-old Messi was introduced, fans erupted again when he scored past diving goalkeeper Andre Blake.
