Kevin Costner's Wife Can't Remove Property From Lavish Estate Due to Divorce, Says Judge

In a messy divorce, Kevin Costner's ex-wife cannot remove any property from their marital house, according to a California judge.

Christine Baumgartner, Costner's estranged wife, left their $145 million marital home on July 28, per court order. TMZ posted photographs of many vehicles, including a U-Haul, departing the property that morning.

People reports that Baumgartner moved to "a smaller house on the property that's been used as a staff quarter."

According to court documents Fox News received, Judge Thomas Anderle ruled in Costner's favor before his wife's relocation, stating, "Christine shall be permitted to remove her toiletries, clothing, hand bags and jewelry from Kevin’s Beach Club Road residence."

"Christine is prohibited from removing any other items from the property, including, but not limited to furniture, furnishings, appliances and artwork from the Beach Club Road residences and from any storage unit maintained by the parties, whether jointly or individually absent a written agreement executed by the parties or further court order," the ruling states.

Baumgartner divorced Costner in May. In mid-June, Costner filed court filings accusing his former wife of neglecting to depart their home—which Costner owned before their marriage—within a month, which he claimed violated their 2004 prenuptial agreement. Baumgartner said that Costner had no right to make she leave because their three children had only known the residence.

July brought a child support ruling for Costner and Baumgartner. Costner was ordered to pay Baumgartner $129,000 every month, splitting the parties' initial sums. Baumgartner wanted $248,000 per month, but Costner countered that it included personal and cosmetic needs and offered $52,000

Costner's divorce and Yellowstone departure coincide. The Oscar-winning actor and director announced in early July that he was no longer under contract to the program, and his character, patriarch John Dutton, will reportedly die in the second half of Season 5.

Netflix's decision to cancel a fan favorite series has many people downhearted.
