Iga Swiatek: "I'm human, I need to breathe" Cincinnati Open chair umpire argument, confesses to purposely delaying Marketa Vondrousova

Chair umpire Marija Cicak warned Swiatek for taking too long to prepare for her opponent's serve. 

the 22-year-old had a lengthy talk with Cicak, which she explained in her news conference.

Iga Swiatek clarified that she and the chair umpire had no tension later, except that Cicak was extremely strict

she slowed down because Vondrousova wasn't letting her regain her breath after extended rallies.

"No, not 'tension'. Marija Cicak is an excellent umpire. She's tough with the rules and applies them constantly

so I needed time to collect my breath, but Marketa didn't allow me. How about 23 or 25 seconds?" she said.

However, the World No. 1 struggled throughout the 7-6(3), 6-1 triumph.
