House reports contradict DeSantis' claim of selling all holdings.

Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida stated his support for a ban on congressional stock trading in an upcoming interview. 

He cited his prior experience serving in the House of Representatives as the reason for his position.

According to a transcript that was distributed by CNBC before the interview was broadcast on Monday night.

 the Republican presidential contender tells CNBC's Brian Sullivan, "I was a congressman for three terms.

The interview will be broadcast on Monday night. 

"Before I went in, I liquidated all of my stock holdings because I used to engage in day trading. 

It's not that I had a lot of money, but I did it nevertheless

And I didn't even want to give the impression that I was doing improperly."
