Harris Rejects DeSantis Black History Discussion


(According to Bloomberg) The Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis invited Vice President Kamala Harris to visit Florida to discuss the state's new Black history curriculum. 

However, Harris openly refused the offer and condemned the concept that those who were slaves developed important skills. DeSantis is running for president as a Republican.  

Harris made these remarks on Tuesday during a meeting of the Women's Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Orlando, Florida.

"I'm here in Florida, and I will tell you there is no roundtable, no lecture, and no invitation we will accept to debate an undeniable fact: 

There were no redeeming qualities of slavery," Harris said. "There were no redeeming qualities of slavery.

" The curriculum in issue has come under fire from the administration of former Vice President Joe Biden.

 because it teaches that enslaved individuals learned talents that "could be applied for their personal benefit."

Harris and President Joe Biden have both voiced their disagreement with the requirements,
