"Ex $82 Million Scorer Traded to Sixers in Proposed 3-Way Deal for James Harden"

– James Harden's Preference: James Harden reportedly wants to join the Los Angeles Clippers, but the Philadelphia 76ers are not obligated to comply with his wishes.

Alternative Trade Proposal: Sports Illustrated's Dalton Trigg suggested a three-way trade that would send Harden to the Dallas Mavericks instead of the Clippers. The trade would involve the Sixers, Mavericks, and Chicago Bulls.

DeMar DeRozan's Inclusion: In the proposed trade, the Sixers would acquire DeMar DeRozan to replace Harden's production. Trigg believes DeRozan, though not on Harden's level, could still perform at an All-Star level.

DeRozan's Impressive Stats: During the 2022-23 season, DeRozan averaged 24.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds while shooting an impressive 50.4% from the field.

– Contract Situation: DeRozan is entering the last year of his three-year, $81.9 million contract signed with the Bulls in 2021. Acquiring his expiring contract could provide cap flexibility for the Sixers in 2024.

Clippers' Interest: Despite mutual interest in acquiring Harden, the Clippers are reportedly not in a rush to complete the trade, as per Philly Voice's Kyle Neubeck's report on July 28.

Trade Details: The proposed deal would also involve the Bulls receiving Christian Wood (in a sign-and-trade), Tim Hardaway Jr., and the Mavericks' 2027 first-round pick.

Evaluating the Trade: Trigg's proposal offers an interesting perspective, suggesting that acquiring DeRozan could be one of the best options for the Sixers to fill the void left by Harden's departure.
