Craigslist is selling Oppenheimer 70MM IMAX tickets for more than $1,000.

Craigslist is selling Oppenheimer 70mm IMAX tickets for nearly $1,000. Christopher Nolan's latest masterwork, which was released in theaters on July 21,

dramatizes the life story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the "father of the atomic bomb," and has won international acclaim as a captivating visual spectacle.

Nolan has been outspoken about how the greatest way to view Oppenheimer in cinemas is in IMAX 70mm, a format that is only available in around 25 sites across North America.

This level of exclusivity has made Oppenheimer 70mm IMAX tickets the most sought-after of the summer, with fans prepared to pay hundreds of dollars to

watch the film in Nolan's preferred format. A Craigslist listing (via @turbovax on Twitter) shows eight 70mm IMAX tickets selling for $1,400.

The seats are for the AMC Lincoln Square 13 in Midtown Manhattan, and they are in the fourth row, dead center. The Craigslist listing has since been removed,

but more tickets are being resold on third-party sites such as eBay, where two tickets start at $499.

According to Christopher Nolan, IMAX 70mm is the greatest way to see Oppenheimer in cinemas since it is the highest-quality format yet produced and allows audiences to fully immerse themselves in the film.
