'American Idol' Season 22 Judges Have Been Announced

Ryan Seacrest, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan will judge American Idol (AI) season 22 in spring 2024.

The judges will return for Season 22. After 15 seasons on Fox, ABC rebooted American Idol in 2018. Perry, Bryan, and Richie joined.

Since 2002, Seacrest, Cowell, Abdul, and Jackson have hosted the show.

Kelly Clarkson won season one. After Pat Sajak retires, the longtime AI emcee will host Wheel of Fortune and American Idol.

"Idol Across America," a live virtual nationwide search for contestants that found season 21 champion Iam Tongi, returns on Wednesday (August 2) to start season 22 auditions before the show returns to ABC in spring 2024.

For the 2024 judging phase, all AI hopefuls can meet an American Idol producer from anywhere in the U.S. The First 700 event will allow competitors to sign up for VIP spots first. First-time genre auditions are also available.

Iam Tongi, Megan Danielle, and Colin Stough won season 21 of American Idol in May 2023.

Bryan, who will begin his Farm Tour in 2023, added, “I think the beauty of ‘American Idol’ is it’s very, very driven by the kids’ talent.
