Since April 18, no one has won the Mega Millions jackpot.
The Mega Millions jackpot has risen to $1.55 billion after the drawing on Friday night concluded without a winner.
The winning numbers for Friday's drawing are 45, 30, 52, 56, 11, and 20 for the Mega Ball.
There have been 31 consecutive drawings since the last jackpot winner on April 18.
The jackpot is so difficult to win because the odds of matching the numbers on five white balls and a separate mega ball are one in 302.6 million. Smaller rewards, starting at $2, have increased odds of being won.
The $1.55 billion prize is for a single winner and will be paid out over 30 years via an annuity. Those who choose a lump sum payment will receive an estimated $757.2 million.
A significant portion of those earnings would be subject to federal taxes, and many states also tax lottery payouts.
Mega Millions is available in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.
