The San Francisco 49ers released a veteran defensive end from the Seattle Seahawks.

It looks Darryl Johnson will not play for the 49ers in his sixth NFL season.

San Francisco notified the roster change through the transactions wire on August 16.

Johnson, who was hurt two weeks ago and put on injured reserve, is unlucky.

The 49ers never reported Johnson's injuries or rehabilitation.

Johnson spent much of 2021 and 2022 on injured reserve, so another ailment limiting his league advancement is concerning.
